Just got back from a really special wedding in Aiken, SC. There were several things about this wedding that were unique. The first is that the couple found me on Engayged Weddings. A gay/same sex friendly site. The bride let me know right off the bat that she and her fiancé were having a traditional straight wedding, but they wanted an officiant who was tolerant, progressive and open minded about creating a ceremony that blended parts of an Anglican service with a secular American wedding. Her husband to be is English and she is a Southern Belle from Aiken, SC. I was available and was delighted to assist.

It turns out that the couple met at the Harvard School of Public Affairs. They are both brilliant and eager to do what they may to improve the lot of all they touch. They also had their wedding announcement in the New York Times on Sunday May 4, 2014, so yours truly was also mentioned in the New York Times …wedding officiated by Rev. Jim DeKornfeld of the Universal Brotherhood Movement.

How cool is that?
